Intelligent People Less Likely to Believe in God

This is a very interesting article in which I greatly disagree with. The article definitely gives you something to think about and question, but can be insulting depending on what you view you are reading the article for. Based on a study done by Ulster University, the argument is made that the decline in religious believers over the years is do to people being smarter and having higher IQs. Kind of outlandish in my opinion. The studies suggest that people with higher IQs are better able to question religious theories and find wholes in religion that make it hard to believe that their is a God. So, is the study saying that if I do believe in God that I am stupid and that I only believe in God because I do not have the mentally capacity or intelligence to think against religion or believe anything else. This study is pointless in my opinion. Religion is based on faith and not theory. Everything is not meant to be proven and questioned. Religion is faith and believing and trusting in those things that we can not understand and cannot see. Our religion has nothing to do with are academic intelligence. It is two different bodies of thought. People believe in religion because of their life experiences and things that have witness, not because the have a degree or invented the next scientific breakthrough. There is no link between intelligence and faith. People who try to draw that line between the two, we must really question their intelligence.
