Quote of the Day --- "Self-Respect"

"Your only obligation in any lifetime is to be true to yourself. Being true to anyone else or anything else is ... impossible."
--Richard Bach--

"An individual's self-concept is the core of his personality. It affects every aspect of human behavior: the ability to learn, the capacity to grow and change...A strong, positive self-image is the best possible preparation for success in life."
--Joyce Brothers--

I often have conversation with people and they are always discussing or I can tell they are concerned what other people my think about them or how people view them. My only response is that it does not really matter. It's hard to accept that truth because some people involve other people so deeply in their everyday lives. It is alright to be aware of what other people think of you or how other people view you, as long as we remember that what we think of ourselves is most important. We enter this world alone and we depart this world alone. It is essential that we embrace ourselves and attempt to learn one of life's hardest lessons, the lesson of who we really are as people. We must have the respect for ourselves to take interest in ourselves and to care about ourselves like many of us care about those around us. When we learn to respect ourselves lots of the petty drama and problems, we deal with in life will simply disappear. Besides, we can never truly respect someone else until we respect ourselves and other people will not respect you until you respect yourself.
